The Pug — 2,000 years of wrinkled, flat-faced charm — miniaturized in .925 sterling silver, Made in USA. At 1.2 grams and 3/8" x 3/8", this compact charm captures the breed's distinctive features in solid sterling.
Each charm is created through traditional lost-wax casting. A wax original is burned out at 1,350 degrees, and molten silver fills every facial wrinkle and curled tail under centrifugal force. Hand-polishing with tripoli and rouge compounds brings out the contrast between smooth and textured surfaces.
Originally bred as lap dogs for Chinese emperors during the Shang dynasty, Pugs have been companions to royalty across the globe — from Chinese palaces to Dutch courts to Napoleon's household. Their flat face, bulging eyes, curled tail, and compact, muscular body are all unmistakable, and this charm renders each feature in three-dimensional detail. Sterling silver jump ring included and attached.
