Each piece is lost-wax cast using a process that begins with a hand-carved wax original. After the plaster mold burns away at 1,350 degrees, molten silver fills the cavity at over 1,640 degrees. Hand-finishing brings every strand of the beard, every ridge of the helmet, to sharp relief.
