Hours of hand-finishing follow the casting process: filing away casting marks, then polishing through tripoli compound, rouge polish, and a final buff until every column and cornice reads sharp and bright. The result captures the symmetrical wings, the columned portico, and the iconic roofline that James Hoban designed in 1792 and that has been rebuilt and refined ever since.
