Each piece undergoes the full lost-wax casting process: a hand-sculpted wax original is encased in investment plaster, burned out at 1,350 degrees, and filled with molten silver. After casting, individual hand-finishing — filing, tripoli compound, rouge polish, and final buffing — creates the bright, smooth surface. No two pieces are exactly identical.
Greater roadrunners can sprint up to 20 miles per hour, making them one of the fastest running birds capable of flight. They are one of the few animals that actively hunt rattlesnakes, and their distinctive "meep meep" call — made famous by a certain cartoon — actually sounds nothing like the real bird's cooing.
