Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted wax original, encased in investment plaster, burned out at 1,350 degrees, and filled with molten sterling silver. After casting, individual hand-finishing — filing, tripoli compound, rouge polish, and final buffing — creates the bright surface. No two pieces are exactly identical, and a sterling silver jump ring is included and attached.
The greater roadrunner can sprint up to 20 miles per hour and actively hunts rattlesnakes — a far cry from the cartoon version that popularized the bird's name.
