Each piece is created through lost-wax casting, a 6,500-year-old technique where a wax model is burned out of a plaster mold and replaced with molten silver. After cooling, the helmet is hand-finished through filing, tripoli compound, and rouge polish to a mirror-bright surface.
The riding helmet became mandatory in competitive dressage and show jumping in the late 20th century, but its distinctive rounded profile has been associated with equestrian sport since the early 1900s. This charm shows the brim, vented crown, and chin strap at 5/8" x 1". A sterling silver jump ring comes included and attached.
