Each pelican is lost-wax cast: a hand-sculpted wax model is encased in investment plaster, burned away, and replaced with molten sterling silver. The result is a sculptural depth — from the oversized bill pouch to the folded wings — that flat stamping and machine pressing cannot achieve. After casting, each piece is hand-polished through four stages to a mirror finish. A sterling silver jump ring is attached and ready for wear.

The brown pelican was on the endangered species list until 2009, making one of the greatest comeback stories in American conservation. This charm captures the bird in a resting pose at 1/2" x 3/4", with the characteristic throat pouch, long bill, and compact body clearly rendered.
