A Kewpie doll — that round-faced, topknotted figure of good luck — cast in .925 sterling silver and Made in USA. At 2.9 grams, this 3D charm captures the doll's wide eyes, tiny wings, and outstretched arms.
Each Kewpie is created through lost-wax casting, then individually hand-finished through filing, sanding, and polishing. The progressive polishing with tripoli compound and rouge brings out the smooth, cherubic features that have made Kewpie dolls collectible for over a century.
Kewpie dolls were first illustrated by Rose O'Neill in 1909 and became three-dimensional figures by 1912. Named after Cupid, they were designed to bring good luck and joy. O'Neill became one of the wealthiest women in America from Kewpie licensing alone. This charm captures the classic upright pose at 3/8" x 5/8". A sterling silver jump ring comes included and attached.
