For a bird this size, the wax artisan must account for the macaw's elongated tail, curved beak, and textured plumage — all of which must survive the casting process intact. Molten silver at 1,640 degrees fills the mold under centrifugal force, then each piece is hand-polished from rough filing through rouge compound to a mirror finish.
