Each piece is hand-finished through progressive polishing stages after lost-wax casting. Rough filing removes casting imperfections, then tripoli compound smooths the surface, rouge polish brings up the shine, and a final buff produces a mirror-bright finish. Eight or more hours of finishing per batch — and no two pieces come out exactly identical.
The German Shepherd's alert stance, erect ears, sloping back, and confident bearing are all captured in detailed 3D relief. Developed by Captain Max von Stephanitz in 1899 with the goal of creating the perfect working dog, the German Shepherd has since become the breed of choice for police K-9 units, military service, search and rescue, and guide work for the visually impaired. Their intelligence consistently ranks in the top three of all dog breeds.
