Each of these beads is sculpted fully in the round and painted by hand in Peru, the shell markings and face picked out in glaze before kiln-firing hardens the colors against years of wear. At 0.75" x 1.0" it is a substantial bead with genuine presence in the hand, and the generous 2–3mm hole takes thicker cords as comfortably as standard beading wire.
The upright orientation suits these turtles especially well to earring drops, where the full figure hangs in view. Beyond earrings, they anchor sea-themed necklaces and bracelets, or hang solo on a simple cord as a casual pendant with built-in meaning.
Sold in sets of four. Hand-painting guarantees each turtle in the set differs a little from its companions — which is the point, not a flaw.
