Centrifugal casting pushes molten silver at roughly 50 G's into every fur texture, button eye, and stitched-nose detail of the figure. After cooling, each bear is hand-polished through tripoli and rouge compounds to a warm, bright finish. Round ears, stubby limbs, and a friendly face are all visible at this compact scale. A sterling silver jump ring is included and attached.
The teddy bear traces its origin to 1902, when President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear that had been tied to a tree during a hunting trip. A Brooklyn toy store saw the story in the newspaper and produced a stuffed bear they called "Teddy's Bear." The name and the toy spread worldwide, and the bear became a cultural fixture — comfort object, nursery staple, collector's item — across more than a century.
