Each piece is created through lost-wax casting, where molten sterling silver is poured at over 1,640 degrees into a detailed plaster mold. A centrifugal caster generates roughly 50 G's of force to push silver into every wrinkle and fold. After casting, each charm is individually hand-polished through progressive stages — tripoli compound, rouge polish, and a final buff — for a finish that machine processing cannot match.

The Pug's signature features are all here in 3D: the flat, wrinkled face, large round eyes, and compact muscular body. Pugs were originally bred as companions for Chinese emperors during the Han Dynasty, around 200 B.C. They later became the official dog of the House of Orange in the Netherlands after a Pug named Pompey saved the life of Prince William by alerting him to approaching assassins.
