The lost-wax process dates back 6,500 years to ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. A hand-sculpted wax original is encased in investment plaster, burned out at 1,350 degrees, then filled with molten silver spun at roughly 50 G's of centrifugal force — capturing every feather and talon in crisp relief.
