Papoose Charm Sterling Silver | Cradleboard Jewelry | Native American Inspired Jewelry | Made in USA
A traditional cradleboard — the papoose — rendered in 3 grams of solid .925 sterling silver, Made in USA through lost-wax casting. At 1/2" x approximately 13/16", the infant, wrapping, and board frame are all captured in three-dimensional detail.
The centrifugal caster generates roughly 50 G's of force, ensuring molten silver at 1,640 degrees fills every fine element — the child's face, the lacing pattern, and the protective frame. Hand-finishing through four polishing stages completes each piece.
The cradleboard has been used by Indigenous peoples across North America for centuries, keeping infants secure and close while allowing mothers to work and travel. It represents nurturing, protection, and the bond between parent and child.
A tender gift for new mothers, grandmothers, or anyone celebrating the arrival of a child. Also meaningful for collectors of culturally inspired Southwestern jewelry. Sterling silver jump ring attached.
