Kachina Charm Sterling Silver | Shalako Dancer | Southwestern Jewelry | Made in USA
The Kachina -- cast in solid .925 sterling silver and proudly Made in USA.
Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted wax model, encased in investment plaster, then burned out at 1,350 degrees before molten silver fills the mold. After casting, every charm is individually filed, sanded, and polished through progressive stages to reach a mirror-bright finish.
The Shalako is one of the tallest and most dramatic Kachina figures, towering above other dancers during winter solstice ceremonies. Representing a messenger to the rain gods, the Shalako is believed to bring blessings to newly built homes. This charm captures the figure's towering headdress and elongated form, with a sterling silver jump ring attached.
Makes a thoughtful gift for a Southwest art collector's birthday, a housewarming gift, or a cultural studies student's keepsake. Add it to a Southwestern-themed charm bracelet, or wear it alone on a silver chain as a conversation piece.
