That feather-level detail comes from lost-wax casting, the 6,500-year-old craft of Egyptian and Greek goldsmiths. A hand-sculpted wax original is burned out of its plaster mold at 1,350 degrees, then .925 sterling silver floods in at over 1,640 degrees while a centrifugal caster applies roughly 50 G's — force enough to drive molten metal into the finest ridges of each feather.
At 5/8 by 3/4 of an inch and 2.3 grams, with the jump ring already attached, it moves easily between necklace duty and bracelet duty.
