The grinning carved face arrives in full 3D thanks to lost-wax casting, a technique whose lineage stretches back some 6,500 years to ancient Egypt and Rome. Molten .925 sterling silver is driven into the mold under about 50 G's of centrifugal force, which is how details stay sharp on a charm measuring just 1/2" x 3/4" and weighing 1.9 grams.
The pumpkin itself has folklore behind it: Irish stories of Stingy Jack, condemned to wander with a lit ember, a legend that crossed the Atlantic with immigrants in the 1800s and became the carved face on every porch.
A jump ring comes attached, so the charm transfers straight to a bracelet, a chain, or an ear wire. Made in USA, and entirely wearable past October 31.
