Weight is the surprise. At roughly 5.67 grams, the bead has a dense, substantial feel in the hand that suits its subject; it hangs with real authority on a cord and gives a finished necklace a noticeable, satisfying center of gravity.
Where a full-body eagle reads patriotic, the head-only portrait reads fierce, and that opens different doors: motorcycle and rocker-style jewelry, men's leather-cord necklaces, talisman pieces for anyone who takes eagle symbolism seriously. The 2-3mm hole accepts thick leather lace just as easily as it does fine beading wire.
