The lost-wax casting method dates back 6,500 years to ancient metalworkers. Each covered bridge charm is hand-finished individually through multiple polishing stages, and no two pieces come out exactly identical from the process.

At their peak in the mid-1800s, America had more than 12,000 covered bridges. Today, fewer than 750 remain. The roof protected the wooden truss structure from rain and snow, extending the bridge's life by decades.
