Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted wax model, encased in investment plaster, and burned out at 1,350 degrees before molten sterling silver is poured at over 1,640 degrees Fahrenheit. A centrifugal caster generates roughly 50 G's of force to push molten silver into every fine detail — a 6,500-year-old technique dating back to ancient Egypt and Rome.
A classic round Christmas ornament complete with its hanging cap, captured at a petite 1/4" x 1/2". Despite its small size, this charm carries the unmistakable shape of the glass baubles that have adorned trees since the 1840s.
