The bead borrows the animal's defining trait: an all-over ivory body with soft blue-grey shading brushed along the back to suggest depth. Its slim 0.625" x 0.25" profile is built for motion — long, low, and horizontal, like a whale gliding just under the surface.
That elongated shape hangs beautifully sideways from earring wires and gives a necklace a gentle east-west focal point instead of the usual vertical drop. The 1.5-2mm hole runs through the body and accepts most stringing wire and cord. Surround it with frosted glass bubbles or blue seed beads to put it back in the water where it belongs, or let it swim alone on bare cord for a cleaner, beach-house look.
