Casting begins with a hand-sculpted wax model encased in investment plaster. After the wax burns out at 1,350 degrees, molten sterling silver pours into the cavity at over 1,640 degrees. Each piece then passes through progressive hand-polishing stages to a mirror-bright finish that brings out the instrument's distinctive curves.
